"Most of my quilts seem to be experiments that start as one thing and end up as something completely different.  My initial plan is always very sketchy and then I improvise, often to compensate for some accident that happened along the way.  I keep my pieces relatively simple and graphic without much embellishment.

I also make fabric bowls and vases for sale on Etsy.com (shop name “Rolling Blackout”) and at juried art fairs in Southern California and throughout the western states.  About half of my “soft sculptures” are made with Marimekko fabric, which I love for its bold graphics.  The rest are made from fabric I am constantly seeking in every town I visit or scrounged from friends.  I always find myself looking at what people are wearing and wanting to cut up their clothes for my bowls and vases."
